What is IV Therapy like at The Skin Elite?
We are excited to offer vitamin drip therapy to promote overall wellness for our patients. The procedure for an IV drip is simple: You’ll sit in a comfortable chair while an intravenous needle is inserted into your vein. The contents of your IV treatment will be slowly and gradually “dripped” into your bloodstream to ensure that you leave feeling fantastic.
What conditions can an IV drip improve?
An array of unique formulations is available, enabling us to address several different conditions with exceptional precision. We will discuss your medical history during your consultation, learning about the specific conditions and symptoms from which you want relief. Then we will craft a custom IV drip regimen to meet your needs. These are some conditions for which IV drips are used and the nutrients that help alleviate them.
- Overall wellness: IV drip therapy began with the development of the Myers Cocktail, and it is still used as a “go-to” for a host of conditions, including fatigue, muscle pain, depression, migraines, and menstrual cramps. The Myers Cocktail is a vitamin, mineral, and antioxidant formula, making it exceptionally effective in a range of areas.
- Dehydration: Dehydration and the loss of electrolytes can be responsible for various problems, from fatigue and muscle cramps to brain fog. Without enough water, the body’s fluids do not circulate optimally. Electrolytes work as a team, both inside and outside the cells, to send messages that signal the brain and nerves to do their jobs.
- Fatigue: Fatigue can be an indication of several different conditions and can often be remedied with an IV drip of vitamins B12, B5 (pantothenic acid), and B6.
- Colds, bacterial and viral diseases, and low immunity: An IV drip to treat these conditions often contains vitamin C, B vitamins, lysine (an amino acid), and zinc, along with mega-doses of nutrients that specifically address the immune system.
- Toxins and heavy metals: It is hard to avoid toxins and heavy metals in today’s world. They are in the air, in the water, and even in our food. Heavy metals and toxins can damage cells and affect the liver. Glutathione is one of the most potent antioxidants, killing free radicals while attracting heavy metals and toxins and drawing them from the cells.
- Preparation for and healing after surgery: Any type of surgery — cosmetic, dental, or otherwise — creates stress on the body and depletes its nutrients. An IV drip can support the body and often helps it heal more quickly by restoring high doses of multiple nutrients, including vitamins and antioxidants. In fact, many cosmetic procedures can stress the body, so it can often be worthwhile to discuss the possibility of having an IV drip before and/or after a treatment.
- Jetlag and hangovers: Flying and the over-consumption of alcohol can quickly cause dehydration, with both jetlag and hangovers calling for the replenishment of fluids and electrolytes. A hangover, specifically, is often caused by depleted levels of vitamin B1. When B1 is combined with the other B vitamins in the correct proportions, the results are virtually
